The folkways reception village is located the central area of Mutianyu tourism zone in Huairou. The village is encircled by mountains on all its sides and surrounded by water on its three sides. It’s green on the mountain all year round and the rivers gurgled. Here, you can see the thousand – year-old trees and Siheyuan(the traditional Beijing compound). It’s really a good place for sightseeing , worshipping the Buddha and preserve one’s health.

    There’re all kinds of folkways reception entertainment---you can eat, live, travel and play. You can taste various special flavor and look around all kinds of the ancient dead stock such as plough, big carriage, stone roller and so on, home tool such as steelyard, old fashioned square table for eight people, measure container and so on so forth. Besides that, here is the folk art performance: stilt, dancing dragon, playing lion, dolly and some folk music instrument; In addition, you can take part in farming to experience the pleasure of work.

    Those who like climbing can step on the Maitreya Top in the Holy Spring Temple, picking the potherbs and pine mushroom; those who like the quiet environment can ride a horse or walk along the village to view the beautiful scene of zoology river shoal, little bridge and gurgling water, white aigret flying in the air and mandarin duck paddling in the river.

    There’re 444 households with a population of 1125 people, of which there’re 98 families providing folkways reception, with a capacity of 2500 people per day. You can barbecue. Living in the Siheyuan( the traditional Beijing compound), you can live on the kang, push the roller, grind up the wheat into flour, cook by yourself. Here’re the famous baked sheep, red trout, loach and natural potherbs such as Muliya, Juecai and hill garlic. On the night, you can have a party around the needfire, watch the folk art performances, play fireworks, have the farmhouse fun as much as you like.

    Here’re some famous farmhouse compound such as Longyixuan, Wengjiadayuan, Hezhongxia, Wangshuyun and garden where you can pick fruits by yourself, such as Shengxian, Tianyuan, Yizhong, Jichao, Lvjiele, etc.
