It was to the east of Maitreya Top, around 1,000years old. Its diameter was 95cm. It belongs to the A Protection Class in Beij ing. Its body looks like legendary dragon and its top looks like canopy. It¡¯s standing at the backside of Maitreya. When you watch it at the south part of it, Koutou village, you can still see its top. So the local people also call it ¡°Luotou Pine¡±, meaning that its head can be seen from a far-away place. There¡¯s a very strange story about this pine.
There¡¯s one family lived in Zhengzhongzhuang, Miaocheng, Huairou (15km away from Koutou). Several generations lived together; the old granny was the leader of this family. There¡¯s a big water pail in the hall. All the family members used water from this pail. Granny always reminds of his husband, ¡°Keep the pail full¡±. Time by time, her husband felt a little bored. So he asked, ¡°Why you always ask me to keep it full, what do you mean?¡± Granny said, ¡°If you don¡¯t eat and drink for three days, then you can understand.¡± The old man really didn¡¯t eat and drink anything. On the fourth day, the wife asked her husband angrily, ¡°Go to carry water.¡± When the old man came back to pour the water into pail, he dared not to look at his wife, only watched the pail. As the pail nearly full, he saw there¡¯s a big pine tree inside. This strange message spread in the village, a lot of people came their home to check, everybody could see this tree, but nobody could explain it clearly. Till one year, one of the ladies married here, her hometown was Koutou, when she saw this pine tree, she said, ¡°This tree is the one at the Maitreya Top.¡± Some people didn¡¯t believe. So they went to Koutou to check. Sure, there¡¯s a tree same with the one in the pail.
Later, this family got richer and richer, and one of the family members became official. When this official went back hometown, he want to thank to ¡°Loutou Pine¡± with a lot of sacrificial offerings. When he reported to emperor£¬emperor wrote down a name for this pine, ¡°Ling Zhao Pine Tree¡± which means the tree can help you realize your dream. |
