Shengquan Avalokitesvara Temple Recovery and Opening to the Public

Benefaction Letter

People in all circles, Buddhists and the broad masses,

With the energetic support and collaboration from all levels of organizations and the general public, Shengquan Avalokitesvara Temple, one of the most famous temples with unique attractions in our district,will be open to the public on May 1, 2006.

There are two statues of bodhisattvas, Cintaanicakra-avalokitesvvara and Avalokitesvara of the South Sea,who are consecrated in the temple. According to the records of the epigraphy, it was regenerated during the era of ZhengTong in Ming Dynasty while legendarily it was founded in Tang Dynasty, which powerfully demonstrates its long history.In the last centuries it went through a variety of war chaos, ferments and dynastic transitions. All of these changes reflected our country’s hundreds of years development and vicissitude. As a place of carrying forward Buddhist doctrine, the temple gives full play to the role in praying for blessings and safety for all flesh. Now in the times of prosperousness, the opening of the restored Shengquan Avalokitesvara Temple will be another feather in the cap for the constrution of establishing a harmonious and fairly comfortable society and pushing forward social progress.

On this occasion, in response to an expressed desire of praying for blessings and safety for all flesh and the almsdeeds of donation from the Buddhist and the general public, Shengquan Temple Tourism Development Corporation makes the following decisions:

First, from now on accept donations from all levels of organizations, social communities, enterprises and people domestically and overseas.

Secondly, register and glorify the benefactors by erecting a monument to them and writing their benefactions to notify publicly and make clear to posterities.

Thirdly, anyone who has different personal requests can consult with the accepted units directly . We will do our endeavor to meet your requests.

Fourthly, the reception office for donation is set up in the agency of Shengquan Temple Tourism Development Corporation.

Lastly, the benefaction letter’s final right of explanation is in Shengquan Temple Tourism Development Corporation’s possession.
